Nivethan Trust has an “Appeal to urgently support for the treatment of a Medical student Ms Devika BJ who is diagnosed with Leukemia and is requiring Bone Marrow Transplant”, which has to be done in December 2020.
Ms Devika BJ, is studying final year Medicine (BAMS) at Sri Kalabyraveshwara Swamy Ayurvedic Medical college in Bangalore. She is a very diligent and bright student. She has scored distinction marks in her 10th & 12th classes and is now pursuing final year Medicine (BAMS). She has achieved this academic feat despite her very modest background and difficult situation at home. In a few months, she would be a full-fledged doctor to serve the society.
Devika, has suddenly been diagnosed to have Leukemia and is being treated at the Narayana Hrudayalaya – Mazumdar Shaw Medical Centre, Bangalore. She has been advised Bone Marrow transplant to be done within the next few weeks, at an estimated cost of Rs. 15 Lakhs. The family is in a dire situation. Her parents used to run a small tea-stall on the roadside which has been closed due to the COVID pandemic. Her sister who is working as an Admin Assistant at Prerana Motors is the only breadwinner in their family. They have no means to pay for this treatment. Fortunately, her older sister will be her donor for the Bone Marrow transplant and this will also save on some cost.
